Question:

approximately how many hours does it take to get from southwest michigan to memphis, tn?
i will be taking I-94 to I-80 to I-57. mapquest and yahoo maps give me two different times (but i know its aprox. 615 miles). i am just looking for someone with experience driving it. you know how those driving directions sometimes under-estimate... if you have driven it, please tell me from WHERE to memphis and how long it took you. thanks so much! i would like to avoid rush hours if at all possible, so i would probably drive half thursday night and the rest friday and get there before 5.

A-Best: If you go through Gary, In at night it will take about 9-10 hours going the route your taking. During the day who knows? But I have good news! Take I-65 south to exit 230, turn right onto hwy 10 & follow it across hwy 41 into IL. then it will become hwy 114. Continue to hwy 1,turn left & follow that until you get to I-57 in Kankakee. That way you won't have any of the headaches on I-80/94.

A: On a weekday or weekend? At night or during the day? I've driven from South Bend to Memphis on that route in 10 hours and that was not pushing it too hard.
