Question:

I am driving from Long Island to Nashville overnight. How is it driving down I-81 at night?

Answers:

A-Best: It's not bad, really. You just have to be alert and aware of trucks, because they tend to go pretty fast.  

A: I used to live in Virginia and took 1-81 all the time. It's not a bad highway. Watch out for cops around Wythville, Virginia (especially around exit 70); also around Abingdon, Virginia (especially around exit 24) and again right before you get into Knoxville, TN. Feel free to e-mail me if you need any insight about speed traps, places to stop or 24 hour gas stations....I'm quite familiar with the area and would be glad to help in any way possible.  

A: You may be doing a lot of things but driving from LI to Nashville overnight is not one of them.That's at least a 20 hour trip  

A: In my experience, you will be out there with every big truck in the world ! Seriously, not bad driving at night, just a lot of truck traffic. Also watch the speeding through PA. and VA.  

A: I guess you know that Nashville isn't far from where the tornadoes hit. Perhaps you are going there to help. Expect that motels may be filled by relief workers.
