I need a listing of Hotels along I-4 in Florida on our way to Disney World?
We will be coming from SC down to 1-95 to I-4. We are wanting to stay about an hour away (cost reasons) the night before so we can visit DW early the next morning. Travel will be in July. If you live in the area, please list some hotels in that area. Thanks.
A-Best: There are none right on the interstate. Best bet for Disney is either the Kissimmee area (US 192 exit), Lake Buena Vista area, International Drive (which is also pretty close to Universal Studios), or Disney property itself. If you stay on property and plan to be there more than a day or two, better refinance the house before you come. LOL. It would be impossible to list each hotel, but if you can even think of a chain, there's one in Orlando, I promise you....stay away from downtown Orlando, Lake Park, Altamonte, Lee Road areas for no reason other than they are not convenient to Disney. Try to find something in the areas I mentioned. Enjoy the trip.
JUST NOTICED: I had not seen your request for information about an hour away.....in that case, Nigel has the right idea. Lake Mary is a nice place. I am a member of a Masonic organization that has our convention there every year, and we have enjoyed staying at the Marriott at Lake Mary. Nice facility.
One last note, July is about 4-5 weeks into hurricane season. Should be quiet that early (Aug-Sept is the peak), but check the tropics a week or two before you come, just in case.
A: You might want to stop and stay in Lake Mary, FL (one of my old home towns).
It's right on I-4, mostly new developments in the last 10 years -- lots of hotels, shops, restaurants & hotels.
It's just north of Orlando, so you'll be about 45 minutes away (without paying the cost of hotels in the main tourist areas, which are south of Orlando).

Some recommendations:
Courtyard by Marriott
Homewood Suites
Hope that helps!
A: When you enter FLorida, stop at the visitor center and pick up a hotel./motel coupon book and a visitors guide for Disney/Kissimmee area. Many reasonable places to stay very close to Disney. No reason to stay far from Disney. Actually the hotels in Disney are an excellent deal, like all star music or sports and you can get into Disney 1 hour early in the am. Plus no charge to park ...... saves more money.....Look into it. You should be able to stay in Disney around $54 - $75 a night.......otherwise look for deals at Super 8, or Best Westerns, watch the signs in Kissimmee area and get that coupon book and Orlando/Kissimmee visitors guide............Just be sure to read restrictions. Many people think it is cheaper to stay further away from Disney, but that is not true. July is very hot in Florida, so the parks will not be as crowded because children are returning to school also and it is hurricane season, but that really doesn't deter people. I have visited many times during tropical storms and the parks are still open....
