I 26 to old to start school for a career?
I am 26 and haven't started college(I made some mistakes, yes) But I want to be some kind of cop or private investigator. I just wondered others opinions on this, thanks :)
A-Best: No it's never too late, go to college, and become what you dreamed of.
A: I say go for it! I'm one of those who believe it is NEVER too late to do what you want to do.
A: No it's definitely not too old. If you're self-concious or you would just like to be around more people your age, maybe you could find a school with a big enough non-traditional student population.
A: No, twenty-six is far from too old. If anything, you're lucky to know what you want to do. I'm sixteen and a lot of the adults around me are still struggling with "what they want to be when they grow up." It's better late than never. Go for it. Really.
A: I started when I was 29! And it is better because you r more mature and you will work harder! I am 30 now and I have been going for a year and I am proud to say that I have a 3.93 GPA! I am in Phi Theta Kappa! I never would of dreamed that I would be doing this well! Good Luck
A: yah try to fix your life.
if you do it later so things would be worse so go to school now.
I know drop outs and now they went to school and got a job that they love and pays well.
A: In my opinion, no one is ever too old to go to school. When I was in college, a 60+ year old woman was in one of my classes and her goal was to become a social worker! Guess what? She ended up graduating and I'm sure that's what she's doing now.
You actually have some advantages to being a non-traditional student (i.e. an individual who does not go directly from high school to college). Maturity, general life experience, and a developed sense of discipline are all points in the favor of most non-traditional students. As a professor myself, I'd prefer having older students because they have a stronger work ethic and desire to succeed whereas many younger, traditional students (though certainly not all) have the tendency to become complacent, if not downright lazy, in their studies. Truth be told, I have failed far more younger students than older students because of this.
My advice/opinion - go for it! And I wish you the best of luck!
A: Never to late! Always keep your goal in sight and get it done at all costs. With so much heart and strength, it is something you will make happen!
