Will Cash for clunkers work for me? 97' Jeep Wrangler?
I have a 1997 jeep wrangler 4wd, 5 speed, manual. the hwy is 18 mpg and the city i think is 16. But i am not sure because when i went to fuelefficient.gov, they didnt have "97 jeep wrangler". they only had "95 jeep wrangler". if i qualify for cash for clunkers how much would i get back? Also, carmax was willing to pay $3000 for it, so then i would get $7500 for this jeep? That seems way over priced. What am i missing?
also, it has 76000 miles on it and i think its a 2.5 l engine.
A-Best: it depends on how much you will get back most people only get back about 2,000 for an older car so its not worth it. to be honest with you your best bet it put that car on Craig's list your jeep is very popular with people that like to do rock crawling and off roading. you should be able to get about 5,000~6,000 for it there and its also a 5 speed and it has low miles so it sounds like have a nice SUV on your hands.
A: i was at the dodge dealer today and if you have owned this jeep for one year and the car you are choosing gets at least 10 mpg better not only will you get 3000 for it but, dodge will match this and that is a total of 6000. don't wait because this will not last long.
A: I know a lot of people will disagree with me but DO NOT deal with the cash for clunkers. Many Jeep owners would love to buy your jeep then have it crushed.
A: Kyle is right, there are many people who would buy it from you. And besides they put an end to the "Cash For Clunkers" program as it ran out of money already.
Beside it has extremely low mileage which makes it worth more than they would have given you.
