I have AT&T home My bill is up to date and I can't get calls in or out, they will charge me 85 dollars for some?
I think AT&T are charging me for repair services, and there is no problems with the lines in my home, what should I do?
A-Best: if the trouble is outside then they will not charge you.. this is something that all of the customer service reps must advise you about the possibility of charges if the trouble is inside your home, or if they are unable to gain access to make the repairs (excluding gaining access to a pole or terminal not located on the property where you live or have control over)
you should do some quick troubleshooting to determine if the problem is in your home or outside.. bring a corded phone to the NID outside where the line comes to the building and check for dial tone there... if the trouble still exists, call ATT they need to make the repairs on the outside of your home at no charge to you... if the trouble does not exist at the NID then the problem is somewhere inside, you can fix it yourself, hire someone else to fix it for you (for probably about 1/2 what ATT would charge you) or just have ATT fix it and bill you for the repairs...
